Hi, I'm Jose.

I'm a front-end engineer who enjoys diving into algorithms and performance optimizations. I believe great web applications should be both beautiful and fast.

I have worked for large companies, startups and medical practices. Some of my clients are Google (worked on their official blog), academy award winner Alfonso Cuarón (built the website for his movie 'Roma'), as well as practices and startups in the oncology and mental health fields.

Before working as a developer, I went to medical school where I was trained in clinical research and statistical programming. After graduating, I became a post-doctoral research fellow and studied the use of robotic radiosurgery to treat pancreatic cancer. You can see my publications here.

It was during my research years that I spent more time programming (R, Python and JavaScript) and fell in love with the craft. In 2020 I decided to make the switch and became a full time software engineer.
